Webflow development cost in 2026

Real 2026 pricing tiers, what actually drives the number, hidden costs nobody quotes, and how it stacks up against WordPress over 3 years.

Webflow development cost in 2026

TL;DR

Expect $500–$3,000 for a freelance Webflow build, $3,000–$15,000 for a boutique agency with custom design and CMS, and $15,000+ for enterprise builds with integrations. Ongoing Webflow hosting is $14–$39/mo - everything else (plugins, security, backups) is included. Over 3 years, Webflow is usually 30–50% cheaper than an equivalent WordPress site once maintenance is counted.

"How much does a Webflow website cost?" is the number-one question we get on discovery calls - and the answer people find on Google is almost always wrong. Agency landing pages quote "$5,000" without saying what's in it. Freelance marketplaces quote "$300" without saying what's not.

This is the same breakdown we walk clients through before quoting a project. It covers real 2026 pricing, what actually drives cost, the fees nobody puts on their sales page, and how the numbers compare to WordPress once you're 3 years in.

Webflow development pricing tiers (2026)

Three honest tiers. Which one fits depends on scope, not vanity - a 5-page site done well beats a 20-page site done badly, every time.

Freelance / Solo
$500 – $3,000

Best for

1–5 page marketing sites, portfolios, MVPs

What's included

Template-based or lightly customized designs, basic CMS, no complex animation. Usually a single Webflow designer-developer.

Watch for

Cheap freelancers often deliver template rebrands, not custom design. Ask for their last 3 Webflow projects live.

Boutique Agency
$3,000 – $15,000

Best for

8–15 page marketing sites, funded startups, growing SMBs

What's included

Custom Figma design, full CMS collections, on-brand animation, SEO fundamentals, analytics wired up, 2–3 revision rounds.

Watch for

This is where most quality Webflow builds live. Expect 4–8 weeks and a proper discovery phase before design starts.

Enterprise / Complex
$15,000 – $60,000+

Best for

Larger brands, multi-market sites, custom integrations

What's included

Complex CMS architecture, memberships, custom Webflow Apps or embeds, HubSpot/Salesforce integration, localization, migration from legacy CMS.

Watch for

Above $60k Webflow's limits start to matter - headless or WordPress may be a better fit.

What actually drives Webflow development cost

Two Webflow projects on paper can have a 5× price difference. Almost always, it comes down to these six variables.

Page count & unique designs

10 pages that share 3 templates is very different from 10 pages that each need custom design. Custom-per-page is the biggest cost multiplier.

CMS complexity

A blog is trivial. Multi-collection CMS with references (case studies linking to team, services, industries) is real work - expect $1,500–$4,000 extra.

Animation & interactions

Micro-interactions are cheap. Full-scroll GSAP-style journeys, 3D or Lottie sequences add $1,000–$5,000 to any tier.

Content migration

Migrating 50 blog posts is a day. Migrating 500 posts, redirects, images and SEO metadata from WordPress is a week.

Integrations

Zapier and Make webhooks: cheap. HubSpot forms, Memberstack, Outseta, custom Webflow Apps: $500–$3,000 each.

Design readiness

A completed Figma from an in-house designer saves 30–40% of a boutique agency quote. No Figma = design becomes half the project.

Hidden costs nobody quotes upfront

The build price is only half the number. Budget for these before you sign - none of them are optional if you want a site that stays live.

Webflow Site plan
$14–$39/mo
Required to publish to a custom domain. E-commerce plans run higher.
Workspace plan (agency)
$19–$60/mo
Only needed if your team edits multiple sites - usually the agency's cost, not yours.
Premium fonts
$50–$300 one-time
Adobe Fonts is free with Creative Cloud; commercial licenses (Monotype, foundries) are separate.
Stock media / icons
$100–$500
Custom photography or icon sets are quoted separately.
Post-launch retainer
$300–$2,000/mo
Small edits, new landing pages, campaign builds. Optional but most brands take one.

Webflow vs WordPress: 3-year total cost

The build price is close. The total cost of ownership isn't. Here's how the same mid-size marketing site looks over 3 years on each platform.

Year 1 total (mid-size site)
Webflow:$5k build + $200 hosting = ~$5.2k
WordPress:$5k build + $600 hosting/plugins + $2k maintenance = ~$7.6k
Year 3 total
Webflow:~$5.6k (mostly hosting)
WordPress:~$10k+ (hosting, plugin renewals, security)
Ongoing dev needed
Webflow:Minimal - marketing edits are safe in the editor
WordPress:Regular - plugin conflicts, PHP updates, security patches
Total-cost surprises
Webflow:Rare - flat monthly plan
WordPress:Common - plugin renewals, hosting upgrades, hack recovery

Can you build it yourself for less?

Yes - Webflow's editor is genuinely usable and the Webflow University tutorials are the best free platform training out there. If you have 40–80 hours to invest and the site is 3–5 pages, DIY is a fair choice. Beyond that, the math flips: an agency ships in 4 weeks what a first-time Webflow builder takes 4 months to figure out, and 4 months of delayed lead flow usually costs more than the build.
